Took a rapid HIV test yesterday (1 minutes result) at an "Out of the Closet" store in NY which offers free testing. Went for a very low exposure (but nonetheless have been anxious about it for some time). Anyway, negative result but few hours after, I had redness around my knuckles and a very small rash on one of my hands (not the one being pricked for the test). I wouldn't be too concerned and I have heard that one-time lancets do not pose any risk but given it wasn't a nurse of doctor administering the test (and the place tailors to the gay population mostly as I understand i)t, my anxiety kicked in. I know sweaty tingling palms (also something I have today) may be a symptom of anxiety but the rash yesterday came out of nowhere, with a few small pimple looking things within it( have been anxious for some time now but haven't seen a rash until after the test) Anyway, could this be related to the test/possible infection? Or is this crazy paranoia on my part? I wouldn't be concerned but have a wife and infant at home...
Thank you.
