I have no idea who you talked to but the concluse test guidelines were changed by the CDC in 2004.
i spoke to one of there reps she said the guideline is 3-6 months and that 3 months is 97% and 6 moths 100% is this true?
the number i dialed was 1800-cdc-info
3 months is conclusive. 6 months are for people on chemo, take antirejection drugs for transplants and chronic IV drug abusers. If you don't fall in the category above your conclusive test is 3 months.
so would these people on chemo etc how low cbc counts?
I've had HIV for 23 years and my CBC has always been normal. The only time it was abnormal was with an OI. The only way you would know if you were infected is by an HIV test ONLY.
wow Teak 23 years you must be what they call a non progresser so how would someone know if they had a suppressed immune system and needed testing out to 6 months?
You wouldn't be on a computer asking questions if you had a suppressed immune system. You would be in and out of doctors offices and hospitals.
oh i see when i went to get my hiv test after everytime they draw blood after my exposure it leaves a bruise where the needle was isnt easily brusing a sign of hiv?
next time you have your blood drawn...apply pressure for a while instead of letting them put a bandaid on it. this should help with the bruising. this is a normal thing to happen and is in no way related to hiv.
3 months is conclusive period.
