do I need more tests? which kind?

Hi Vance,

I have a question please if you know you can help me.

I did a single rapid test finger prick for HIV in canada, 13 weeks post high risk exposure. negative. I was outside my relationship and Im afraid Ill infect my wife.

can I rely on this test or should I do another one to be sure? maybe a regular blood drawn from my arm test?

what do you think I should do now?

Yes, two rapid test's performed at a clinic by qualified staff, post 90 day's, proves without a doubt, you are negative.

Dr Sean Cummings of Freedom Health based here in  London, believes rapid test's are 99% accurate by 6 week's!

I hope I have helped.

Take care.

Yes if done at 90 days and over they are over 99% accurate. Your two test's prove you are negative.
I was trying to show you how well thought they are by health care professional's.
I contacted FreedomHealth and they told me over 97℅ at 6 week's and over 99℅ at 90 day's.
I try to be extremely accurate in my post's. so if I do make a error; I will say so.
Over 97% accurate for a rapid test at 6 week's is still excellent.
Sorry for any misunderstandimg.
You have nothing to worry about.

All the best.

What do you mean?

I meant that my tests were done more than 6 weeks, so it should be more than 99% correct?

My apologies.

FreedomHealth believe Rapid tests are over 97% accurate by 6 week's. Not the 99% I stated earlier.
They are still conclusive by 90 day's.
