gerd ? hiv?

Dear Sir
I am living in Gambia , I am Pharmaccist by profession, since last 1 year.I was suffering from cough, fever, cold. I took azithromycin antibiotic for 4  days with expectorant and paracetamol , i got relief but after 2-3 days my stomach went upset, I had  to go to toilet for 4-5 times, then it associated with acute acidity(always burping), then cough, pain in middle of chest and sweating. Since last 8 days I am taking medicines from Gambian Doctor --omeperazole 40 mg twice a day, levofloxacin 500 mg(antibiotic once a day),(I took also tinidazole 2gm for first three days). Then my loose motion got controlled but all other symptoms (cough, pain in chest, acidity, sweating, fatiqueness) are still there
I am afraid , I check internet, is this GERD or HIV. Should I go for these tests?

Kindly guide.

Your have quoted a sensible statistic however HIV is not a numbers game. Only antibody tests approved by a country respective health department would be conclusive once the appropriate window period has elapsed.

You need to test then as that was an exposure. You can obtain a conclusive result 3 months after your last exposure.

If you have not had an exposure or your are not born with HIV, then the symptoms you described are not caused by HIV then. Symptoms cannot be used to diagnose a HIV infection.
