Lancet hiv

While I was pregnant I had diabetes and I tested one of my co workers sugar can I get hiv from doing this? I know I changed the lancet and wiped the lancet holder off with a paper towel but my mind keeps playing tricks on me about what if I didn't change the lancet and used it again. I'm driving myself crazy thinking about it!! Can I get hiv if I accidently reused it?? Thanks

I'm sorry but we are not going to play the "what if" game. You did not have a risk, it is that simple.

It wouldn't have mattered if it was seconds after. Not an HIV risk.

Move along, you don't have an HIV concern as Vance correctly told you.

I'm so worried and I'm sorry for asking everyone again but are you 100% sure there is no need for testing? I just worry I'm scared because I was pregnant when this happened. Maybe my anxiety and hormones

Lancets are pins, they prick you they don't "puncture" also they are solid, so there is no reservoir of blood like there could be in a hollow bore needle. So even if there was blood , and even if she did have hiv which I doubt because like Dr. HHH most heterosexual non drug users in America don't have hiv you could be Infected this way because once exposed to air the virus in rendered inactive and furthermore a lancet does not go far enough into you (first reach deep tissue nor does it enter your blood stream (like a vein and a drug needle would)
