help please

a month or so i posted on the site and was told to seek medical attention and be tested for hiv  which i tried to do but i went to a walk in clinic due to the fact that i do not have a family doctor i explained i had a possible exposure 6 months back and i had recently had literally 30 cankers in the last 3 months and that i would like to have an hiv test done. the doctor said i was over reacting that it was almost impossible to get hiv from one encounter and that they would just do a routine blood test to check my CBC folic acid b12 the works but never once mentioning hiv. i called in a week later to see how my blood work went and all came back normal. i know i wasnt checked for hiv.

1. would a routine check show anything 6 months post exposure if i did get hiv
2. i still have cankers all the time ive had 35+ in the last 4 months what could it be from ?
3. should i seek more medical attention for an hiv test ??

and the background story is this if anyone is interested ...

ok so i am a male(21 y/o)  i had a one night stand with a female (20-28 y/o) while seriously intoxicated (no condom) i did not know her hiv status and it only lasted a few minutes because i was so drunk. the next day i had serious burning pain while urinating.so i got checked for hiv and std's 2 weeks later, both came back negative. 2 months after that i got checked for std's only again came back negative. At 4 months i started geting canker sores 1-3 here and there at around 5 months they stopped for 1 month its now 6 months later from the encounter and i have ten cankers at one time im freaking out and have no idea if this is related to an std or hiv can anyone shed some light on why one person would have 10 cankers at one time??????? thanks alot

The only way to know your status is by testing and not with a CBC, that will not tell you anything about HIV.

Hello, I think everyone on this site has been in your shoes at one time or another regarding HIV. I just got my 12 week conclusive test on thursday lol. )One night stand with a woman--unprotected.) Your doctor is correct, it is highly unlikely you got HIV from a one night stand with a woman. Odds are she did not have HIV and it is harder to contract as a man from a woman than the other way around due to simple biological structure. Unfortunatley, two weeks is enough for most STDS but not HIV. I disagree with your doctors logic and most others will be on my side on this subject. Your 6 month blood test may show some general signs of infection, such as possibly a low WBC count but that alone may be caused by other things. Canker sores can be caused by many other things as well, weather, stress etc. I strongly urge you to get an HIV test done now, I have almost no doubt it will be negative, good luck, stay well.
