help please

So i have been working various construction jobs, city jobs, etc for the past 10 years.  Anyways a guy got hired on a few weeks ago, he told me he used to be a big druggie, and did use needles. I dont know his hiv status. Anyways at work today he cut him self.  Nothing really bad, but blood was coming out of the cut kind of bad. I tried to stay away from things he touched.. I felt awful.. Anyways about an hour later he picked up a hammer, and handed it to me I grabbed it without thinking.  i touched his hand, and the hammer, this came from the same hand that he did cut, and had an open wound/fresh cut from 1 hour before... Is this a risk?  Sorry I am not educated in this topic. Also he laughed and some of his spit went into my eye this a risk? I heard spit doesnt carry the virus just thought i'd ask.

Bascially is spit in eye a risk? and a guy who cut his hand and shortly after  handing me tools at work.. he did not put a band aid on.

Thanks all. Again sorry if i sound stupid...

HIV is unable to reproduce outside its living host (unlike many bacteria or fungi, which may do so under suitable conditions), except under laboratory conditions; therefore, it does not spread or maintain infectiousness outside its host.

You never had an exposure. Saliva is not infectious.
