Am I Negative

Hi, I had a risk situation happen at 10 1/2 weeks ago... I went in @ 8 days and received a NAAT test that was Negative... I was also put on PEP for one month... My test results for the past 10 1/2 weeks have all been negative... NAAT and HIV Rapid Test have been run... Currently I am waiting for my final NAAT Results and am nervous... Is a Negative Rapid @ 10 1/2 weeks pretty conclusive? Should I be worried I am going to turn Positive? Thanks

Yes it is a good sign, it is just not conclusive.

Sorry I had meant to say a Rapid Blood test, Oral one, and a NAAT all coming back Negative is a good sign? Over the past 10 1/2 weeks is promising?

Western Blot tests are confirmative tests used for confirming a positive test result. If you were given a WB test you need to go to another doctor that knows what they are doing.

Thanks... But having a Western Blot, Rapid, and Naat all coming back Negative is a very good sign, right?

PCR-RNA test is not a stand alone test and will not give you a conclusive result.

***excuse me correction 3 months after you took your last pep is the conclusive result.

As far as a ELISA test, the window period begins after you finish taking the PEP.  6 months after you last took the PEP.

The same goes for a NATT. But you must remember the PEP can cause a false POZ on the NATT test. So its best to stick with an ELISA.
