testing after PEP treatment

Hi,

Can i start testing a day after completion of PEP? Dr Tan forum says yes you can ( 4weeks post exposure)

Some say 4weeks after competion of PEP, am confused! And why do experts have diff views on this?

Last question, 3weeks pep treatment VS 4weeks treatment...is there really a significant difference as compared to maybe 2weeks treatment.

Your forum says my risk was non existant( unprotected cunnilingus and fingering with safe vaginal sexy with a positive female), my dr gave me PEP even though it was on the 88th hour, said just in case..i need the best advise seeing that my dr may have misled me, if i stop treatment now (21days) would i be wrong to do so? What are the odds?

Please assist..

Thanx,

I know most experts say its not advisable to stop treatment even if i was not at risk and treatment was late due to risk of drug resistance by virus,

My questions:

1. Since i was not at risk, how would i become drug resistant?

2.Can i test imediatley after last dose of treatment, would results be reliable (ag/ab test or Pcr)?

3. I took a PCR qualitative test 9days after exposure and still on PEP and it was negative, what can i make of that?

I am in sub sahara africa so our doctors may not be as informed as they should be maybe so i dnt know what to do, i cant go back to same doctor for further advise so please help me fight my anxiety, am engaged to be married and its eating me alive as i havent told my fiance about it, i havent had sex with her since incident so u can imagine the pressure.

Your Dr is just wrong for giving you PEP. You had no risk, never needed to be on PEP and should never have been given PEP.
