cut under fingernail finger hiv risk

Dear Lizzie and Teak

I went to Tijuana last night. Had condom protected sex and I fingered a csw. If I did not noticed the condom break or slip, is it safe to say that it was protected? I changed condoms several times during the session would that increase my risk for protected sex? I was drinking a bit.

I mostly fingered her with my MIDDLE finger on the right hand.  But I think also fingered her with my thumb for a few seconds (10-15).  12 hours before the fingering I clipped  my nail on my thumb and I cut the nail too close to the skin and noticed slight pain but I did not see blood. This morning I look carefully at my thumb and noticed some dried blood very closed to the nail area and some slight pain as well. What is my HIV risk from protected sex and fingering in this situation. Very scare and please help.  And I promised no more csw for me. THANKS SO MUCH!!!

Thank you and I will stay away from CSW from now on and use only latex condom without Nonoxynol-9. Have a wonderful holiday and please take care. You help me a lot this year.

You didn't have a risk of contracting HIV.

The condom I used last time with csw was a Tojan  latex condom with Nonoxynol-9. I just remember reading on this site that it doesn't protect against hiv. Please help.  Am I at risk if the condom did not break? I thought that as long as the condom is latex than it is protection against hiv. I am petrified and I need clarification. I don't think I have used Nonoxynol-9 condom in the past but I am not too sure.  Please help me!!!

Thank you. So even if there was some blood or small open cut under the nail that would still qualify as NO RISK? The cut had been healed (2 days total).
