You can have it now,but it,s not a standalone test or used for diagnostic purposes.You have to follow up with an antibody-Elisa test at 3 months post-exposure for an accurate and conclusive result.I thought you said you were having a p24combo test?
Times are changing kids forget about this 3 month conclusive you can now have conculsive test done at 6 weeks with the new generation of tests.
The original OP should have been more clear about what test he was having.A p24combi test is a standalone test,that looks for both p24 antigen and antibodies and has a window period of between 28 days to 3 months.Read what it says in the expert forum about this particular test.
p24 is not diagnostic test, you need any antibody test 3 months post exposure
if you have negative hiv test at 8 weeks you have good chance that you are not infected
if you want to use DUO test you can do that the same as classic antibody test at 3 month post exposure ( 12 weeks or 13 weeks ) depends where you live
THERE IS NO TEST WHO CAN GIVE YOU CONCLUSIVE RESULT BEFORE 12 WEEKS

No it is not conclusive at 6-8 weeks. It's conclusive at 3 months for negative test result. Early detection and a conclusive negative are not the same thing.
But a p24combi test is and that is what the OP is having.It looks for both p24antigen and antibodies.Our expert doctors on this forum say that this particular test is conclusive at 6 to 8 weeks.
That's what happens when you are not knowledgeable about the types of tests. P24 cannot be used to give a diagnosis of HIV. It is not a standalone test.
I thought that any test taken before 28 days was to early?And no test result is conclusive until 3 months post-exposure.
4 to 6 weeks is the best time to take a p24combi test.But you always have to follow up at 3 months for a 100% conclusive result.All the best.

It appears that somewhere along the line the condom failed you so as a precaution it would be a good idea to test.The p24combi test is one of the best tests avaliable and it appears that,s the one your having.All the best.
