Hi All: I have already been to the other Forum and gotten some feedback from regarding the proper testing for HIV 9 weeks post-exposure. However, I just wanted to see if anyone had any practical experience on this whole subject they could share with me.
I want to know of all of the different tests I am reading about, which is the most accurate? My ideal would be to do a test where I can walk into the health clinic and just find out the results on the spot, maybe through one of these "Rapid" Tests. If I do one of these oral-swab or finger-***** tests, will that allow me to find out the results immediately, i.e. 15 minutes or the like?
ALSO, my biggest concern is eliminating any risk of a "false positive". In anyone's experience, do these "Rapid" tests carry a higher risk of a false positive result?
I was advised to to avoid any "PCR or Antigen" test, and just ask for the "Regular Blood test". Does anyone know if this "Regular" blood test provides for immediate results, or is it like any blood test where you have to wait several days? Thanks in advance for any advice
