Hey experts..i had sexual exposure with street prostitute..M staying in gulf country..i have worn a condon but m not sure whether it got broken or not because it was expired condom which was kept in my bag from last 1 year..And wasnt stored at proper temperature and all..i have got sorethroat 7 days after exposure which took 8 days to resolve..got mild fever around 37.5 degrees..highest was 38.1 degrees for 2 days..main thing that concern me is my joint and muscle pain..joint and muscle pain started from 2nd week after exposure and are still there..m getting constant pain in my knees elbows wrist palm fingers continously..m really freaked out..joint and muscle pain constantly from 3 weeks is worrisome right?what kind Of joint and muscle pain is felt during ars?this kind of pain have never came in my life..

Listen teak as a guardian i expect u to advice me briefly to clear my doubts and fear..this joint pain and muscle soreness constant from 4 weeks are really severe i cant even sleep properly bcoz of pain..

Thx for the reply broda..but the condom i was wearing was an expired one..and this muscle soreness and joints pain are really freaking me out as i have heard that hiv infection can cause arthritis..and myalgia and joint pain are one of the most common symptoms
Dude, you did NOT have a HIV risk. You had PROTECTED sex. Your symptoms are not related to HIV. Go to the doctor and find out.
Teak bro my muscle soreness and joint pain is getting severe day by day..mostly i m having pain in my knees，elbows，shoulder，wrist，palm and fingers..its sharp shooting pain going on continously..this thing is really freaking me out..i have not experienced this kindof pain in my entire life..m sure it must be some kind of arthritis related to hiv infection..please help me :(

Teak please dont get irritated or angry..m scared and having joint pains and muscle stiffness with shooting pains all over thats why m asking..i have never. Felt this kind of things with my joints and muscles :(just reply this last answer

Thanks nursegirl and teak for the information..m sure that my condom didnt broke to that extent where only ring must be seen although my condom was old and i didnt used lube..m just concerned about 1 thing.. my joint pains in knees fingers toes palms elbows wrists are similar to rheumatoid or reactive arthritis :(..can u please put some light on this..i have heard that arthritis is common with people infected with hiv
When condoms break, they do so very obviously. You would have removed a ring around the base of your penis. You didn't have a risk, period.
From now on, use condoms correctly, that includes proper storage. Using an old condom that wasn't stored properly definitely increases your risk of breakage. Yours didn't break, so you don't have a concern.

If you are concern about your symptoms see your doctor. You do not have an HIV concern.
