Could this be HIV?

Hi, I usually have protected sex but this past summer (late July) I had sex with a random girl without a condom. It didn't bother me until I randomly read an article about HIV symptoms about 3 months later (late October). Immediately I began experiencing headaches, nausea, weakness and one night i had serious diarrhea. I assumed that all of this was probably nerves. It seemed likely that it was the fact that I was so scared of the virus that made me experience these symptoms. The only problem is that since mid September I have had a spot on my upper scrotum (left side), about the size of a quarter in diameter, that itches, at times very badly. It has no bumps at all. It was red when I first got it and now it is whitish and  a little flaky and doesn't itch as much but is still sort of sensitive.  Anyway it seems like it might be some persistent  fungal infection allowed to remain on my scrotum because of a weakened immune system.

Also there is a patch of skin bordering the top of my upper lip that keeps shedding skin, turning reddish, re healing, and then shedding again. It actually sheds a bit on my lip too and the area becomes distinctly red (perhaps resembling an oncoming cold sore). The whole cycle takes about a day or two. The patch is smaller than a penny but is recurring and has been there for about two weeks. It does not itch has no bumps and feels entirely normal. The symptoms are purely visible.

My concern is that these are both so persistent because of a defective immune system. I'm perhaps being paranoid but why do I have two weird skin conditions such as these, at the same time, both with such persistence.

Thank you for any advice/help you can give me.

hey joe, dont want to scare u, but u need to get tested, symptoms have been known to be wrong when indicating hiv infection or not. A test is the only sure way to know. I would also get tested for other stds if i were u, most of them can be asymptomatic, meaning they show no symptoms. Test for hiv, syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia and hepatitis B,C. good luck. Hopefully everything is fine. 3 months are gone, so your window period is over.

Your symptoms do not sound like HIV symptoms, but symptoms will not tell you anything about your status.  It has been long enough for you to test.  Go get a HIV test and put your fears to rest for good.
