justnotsure

Hi all, I have a concern about an exposure with a stripper...she gave me Unprotected Oral and protected sex! But whilst having the sex the condom rolled to the very top of the penis tip and the rest of my penis had her vaginal fluids! I caught some type of bacteria which was treated wit antibiotics and dat resolved! I also had a hiv antibody 4 weeks after exposure and it was negative! I'm concerned that her vaginal fluids got into the tip of the condom before I rolled it back down! Was I at risk? I rolled down the condom as soon as I noticed!

I took ur advice and called the lab to see what tests were ran...and it was a Hiv 1/2 EIA! The reflex portion is only done when one has a reactive specimen. I wasn't sure about the tests the lab ran so that is what created my confusion! Thanks for all the Replies!

I am very thankful to test out - 9 weeks! But to say I had no RISK is I think being a little Blase about the whole situation! Maybe my Risk was not great and was relatively low! but I still did catch some type of bacterial infection and that is where I have my doubts of if I was infected with something else! I'm just trying to get informed until I can Confirm at the 13 week mark! I wish u the best and hope all turns out well for u!!

I envy ppl who ddidnt have any real exposure and are not going through anything that looks  like ars.  but i dont understand why you guys keep asking questions when you didnt have any risk at all and your test results shows that.  I would do anything to have an 8-week (-) result right now. That would be the perfect xmas gift so take it and enjoy it.  Happy holidays :)

Thanks, I have never used Quest for the Hiv test so the Reflex wording mixed me up. I thought they only used the Reflex when there was a reaction to hiv. I guess it just there standard testing and not that I had a reactive specimen! I'm I correct in my assumption? Thanks, for the replies!!!

No that is not what it means and you never had a risk of contracting HIV.

Well, this is my concern! if the lab used REFLEX I assume my blood sample was reactive for Hiv and had to use the confirmatory test to rule out infection! It was a 9 week post exposure test! I guess there was an exposure or do you think this latest result is unlikely 2 change? Thanks 4 ur replies!!

It means if you test postive they can automatically retest with a confirmative test without redrawing blood.

I just had a question concerning my latest results! If I'm hiv negative why would the lab use a confirmatory test like REFLEX to determine if I am hiv infected? Sorry, I didn't think I was excessively posting!

You probably got the bacterial infection (assuming you didn't already have it from some other exposure) from the unprotected oral sex.  Gonorrhea and Chlamydia can be transmitted through unprotected oral sex.

As for HIV, first of all it is unlikely the stripper had HIV.  Even if she did, your sex was protected, which carries no risk of HIV.  The vaginal fluids that got on your penis could not infect you with HIV unless you had a fresh open wound on your penis, which you don't mention.  For HIV transmission, there would have to be penetrative sex with no condom and direct contact between your urethra and the vaginal fluids of the stripper.

Furthermore, your negative test at 4 weeks gives you 95% confidence you don't have HIV.  If you must, you can have an almost-100% conclusive test at 6 weeks, or wait till 12 weeks for a conclusive result.

But no doctor would recommend more testing in your situation.

You can calm down about HIV, because you didn't get it from the episode you describe.

Thanks...I have read them! But I never got clarification concerning the fluids that were in the condom before I rolled it back down! He says Its no risk...but why? There were some fluids in the condom since when we were havin sex the condom rolled up while in her! So I had vaginal fluids on penis and when I rolled down the condom I assume those fluids were still in condom!

Well I just wanted to make sure that all the facts about the exposure were explained correctly! Also, I posted it on someone else thread! Considering dat I might hav had some exposure to vaginal fluids do you still feel I had NO risk? Even though I picked some other sti!
