low risk assessment

On April 12th, I visited a prostitute I found online.  I'm based in N.VA.  She's approximately 20-24 white woman traveling from Florida.  Before engaging in sex, I asked directly if she had any STDS/and HIV she responded with a firm NO. She also informed me that she wasn't an IV drug user; however, she did inform she has anal sex with her clients with condoms. She then proceeded to give me condom protected oral sex for about 3/4 minutes. She then got up top of me and put my penis inside of her.  I gave her 5 or 6 thrust and ejected inside of her.  When she got up my condom was fully intact. Given the brevity of the intercourse, would an HIV test be pointless?  Also, are the odds of getting HIV with a condom zero?  In high school, I was informed that it was 98 % effective against HIV.

Thank You.

And then what? He's gonna rush to the clinic to get tested after every protected sex?

The point of condoms are to reduce the risk of STDs such as HIV. So...that is what you did. Of course there is always a risk of transmission of STDs with sexual intercourse, as you know, however it's very unlikely that you would get HIV from protected sex.  Kudos to you for using protection for oral.

Anal sex does not automatically mean HIV.  Yes there may be more tearing involved and could increase risk, however if she says she uses condoms then that would decrease risk.

I guess if you knew more about the website and company (if she uses one) and the kind of escort service this is, you would have a better idea of the safety.  Some escorts that are through companies are required to do tests often.  Also, just because she is a prostitute, doesn't mean she has an STD.  I mean yes, she has a lot of sex, but so do a lot of people who are not prostitutes.  Someone whose job it is to have sex, I would hope at least, would take this seriously and consider their own risk, since they are the ones meeting strangers.  She probably wonders about you or other clients having STDs as well.

She used a condom with you for everything, this is a good sign that she most likely does this with everyone.

There is still a small small small small small possibility that she may have not used protection once, but then this would only matter if another client had HIV, and this would only matter if she had in fact gotten infected from that.

So based on the fact that she most likely uses condoms all the time, she most likely has been tested, she is most likely HIV negative, she used protection with you the whole time, the condom was intact, and the fact that HIV is actually a very hard virus to transmit anyway especially with condoms (IV drug users are more at risk because it is going directly into blood stream), and by the way it's easier for females to get it than males, I'd say you are fine, but in a few months, you should get a test, just for peace of mind, and it's good to know for any future partners you may have.  Really though I don't think you should worry.

If a condom is correctly used, then it's 100% effective in preventing HIV transmission. Since the condom didn't break, you were FULLY protected against HIV. Testing is not required.

2% are left out to the possibility of a condom breakage.
