when you get a swollen lymph node that is big in your neck does hurt if is hiv related?

well a guy i had unprotected sex with told that before he went to the emergency room because he had a big swollen lymph node. But this happened in the Caribbean and he is very short of knowledge when it come to hiv. he said they told him it was nothing serious. omg i am going crazy that he might of gave me the virus. I question him about his hiv status and he said he was clean and he got tested about 6 months ago but i just dont believe him because something he contradicts him self with other things he says. it was three weeks ago i have very achy muscles and my neck hurts it feels like if my tonsil are going to get infected.
I presume that you are referring to acute HIV infection or ARS. For a start not eveyrone who has recently been infected with HIV will present any signs or symptoms of ARS.
As for Lymph nodes, they would normally be raised and teh this would be generalised at lymph node sites across the body. But I doubt that they would "hurt" though.
