I'm scared I contracted HIV

Between 3 and 4 days after possible exposure I began experience nausea.  This was the only symptom for a couple days then I began to have slight headaches on my forehead that would appear and disappear.  I also began having minor throat irritation that would appear and disappear.  After about 4 days the nausea went away, I got my appetite back, but my muscles and joints started aching.  Like the headaches and sore throat, it's not consistent.  It's been one week since symptoms started and my muscles and joints still ache once in awhile throughout the day. I'm still having minor headaches and sore throat, but they seem to be occuring less often.

I was 6 days after possible exposure.  It was negative.  I'm paranoid.  Any advice/information while I wait for additional testing?

I failed to mention I also had tender lymph nodes in my neck but especially my groin.  That didn't last very long though.

I had unprotected sex with a young woman I met in a bar whom I didn't know.

If you had unprotected vaginal/anal sex. you need to have an HIV antibody test (ELISA) at 6 weeks and if negative , confirm at 3 months. If your exposure was a single episode, it 's highly unlikely that you would be infected ( even in the unlikely case she had HIV).

Your symptoms were too early to be HIV related. ARS symptoms (if they happen) occur 2-4 weeks post-exposure and last 1-2 weeks. You should NEVER attempt to diagnose HIV through ANY symptoms or lack of. As I've said, unlikely you've contracted HIV. Be calm, keep busy and wait out the rest of 6 weeks. If that result is NEG, confirm that at 3 months.
