needle question

Hello,
In a club last night I accidentally touched the bag of the girl I was talking to. And I felt with my finger something very sharp pierced through the bag. As I was drunk I didn't care about it that moment, but now I think that the girl looked like I might believe that she is a drug user. So, I'm worried if it might be a needle. But I don't know whether it went through my skin or not. I felt it quite strongly, but if it would have gone through the skin, I probably would feel strong pain. And I would feel it also today on the finger...? But I don't feel anything now, and there are no any signs on the finger. What's your opinion about this. And how would you estimate my risks?

Police know if they were stuck by a needle. They'll cut your pockets off your pants to look or dump out the purse.

Many thanks, Teak for the fast answer!
Do you mean that the risk would be zero even assuming that it would be recently used drug needle and it would go through the skin?
I know that for example police guys are being adviced by doctors not to put hands into person's bag or pockets without checking them before, to avoid such risks.
