I only just realised this when I sent the response. Didn't click that the most recent poster was not the original poster!!!!
Any reason why you are posting to a thread over a year old?
Of course they do!!!!!!! Australia is very modern in their testing.
I am sorry to ask this but really??? You were attacked with a needle???? For a start this story sounds very random and secondly when you did the test did you ask them what kind of test it was?
australia does not use rapid testing!!!! its a well known fact!
I just wondering where did those red or pink spots come from.
Maybe I am just too nervous and scared.
Had you been poked by a needle and injected with anything you would have known
I found those pink or red spots just after 1 minute when the iccident happend.
Sorry, I did not expalin it right, I found those pink or red spots just after 1 minute when the iccident happend.
30 days is not conclusive. But based from your incident, I do not see any risk associated of HIV. I don't suggest any further tests.
I was attacked by the guy with needle and I saw red liquid inside the needle. I did not think the needle touch my hand because I did not feel any pain and I was not bleeding during that time. But after time I found some little pink spots from my hand, and one of the spots is little bigger than others.
That is why I said I got a possible needle stick.
No such thing as a possible needle stick.
I taken the blood tests after 30 days when I got a possible needle stick and the results comes up to neg.
I had my rapid tests too nicsulong and they drawn 10ML blood from me. The amount of blood drawn from you is normal for testing rapid test. Accuracy of rapid test results is conclusive if taken in the appropriate time.
But yesterday they took about 5ML to 10ML of my blood.
If they use rapid test, it would not need to use that much blood.
Would you like to tell me that what is the accuracy of rapid test?
If the test result came out after a day, then it is the rapid test you had. Rapid test result is available after 30-45 minutes.
I call the hospital they said it is possible to get the result in 1 days.
They said I might just catch the lab's working time when I did the blood test.
I means it that possible to get a result next day?
I think the test should be antibody/antigen test.
Mostly this could be result out time availability(Below stated in Singapore, properly universal also but depend on the lab and clinic)
A. HIV Antibody Blood Test
The HIV Antibody blood test detects antibodies produced by the body in response to infection of HIV. The result for the test takes approximately 5 working days.
If the screening test is reactive, confirmatory test known as the Western Blot test will be carried out. The Western Blot test is specifically used to confirm reactive results from the HIV Antibody tests. The result for the test takes approximately 14 working days.
B. HIV Rapid Test
The HIV Rapid test also detects antibodies. The result for the test takes approximately 45 minutes.
If the rapid test result is reactive, a HIV Antibody blood test and a confirmatory test will be carried out.
Follow "scaredlonelady" advice call the Doc for test type deatils.
Call your doctor and ask them what type of test they took * was it a rapid test? Only they can confirm.
