pcr qualitative test
hello this is a 25 year old male.i had unprotected vaginal sex with a sex worker about 3 weeeks from now. i had two elisa ag/ab test after 7 days and 22 days.both negitive.not its allmost 28 days.im thinking of going for pcr qulaitative test beacuse i cant keep waiting on.
my question is it reliable?
why people say it should not be run for diagnoses?
is there false positive chances?
is it for new borns only?

by duo u refer to elisa ag/ab antibody test. which is the fourth generation antobody test ?
a duo a 4 weeks or an antibody at 6 week will give you a very good indication of your status. at that point, it is HIGHLY unlikely that either will change when you test at the 3 month mark.
