penile lesions and hiv risk

hello all,

i am very well aware of the fact that the risk of hiv transmission through oral sex is extremely low, if not nonexistent.

however, it has recently come to my attention that hsv-2 increases the chances of hiv transmission, and this is worrying me. i have small undiagnosed bumps on my penis (i have diabetes and this is often the result of yeast infections) and two weeks ago i received oral sex from a male who claimed to be hiv-negative. if it were to be assumed that i have hsv-2, should i be concerned about a real possibility of hiv transmission, or is it still a negligible risk in any case?

thank you

thank you. i suppose i was more concerned about the hypothetical however. there seems to be very recent literature detailing a significantly higher risk of transmission of hiv through oral sex when hsv-2 is present, even if it is not visible. is this a conservative assumption or a real risk?

so to be more specific...you are turning your yeast infection into a hsv infection?

you had NO risk

sorry, i should have been more specific. i have been told by my doctor that the bumps are most likely caused by diabetes-related yeast infections as they disappear at most one day after the application of common yeast infection creams. i have not diagnosis of the sort that involves actual lab testing.
