You can NOT get HIV from a staple prick. Even if you were stuck seconds after someone who is infected. A staple would not cause enough of a skin opening to provide a sufficient point of entry for the virus, and also there would not be enough blood to cause a risk.
HIV is unable to reproduce outside its living host (unlike many bacteria or fungi, which may do so under suitable conditions), except under laboratory conditions; therefore, it does not spread or maintain infectiousness outside its host.
