Question on headaches and ARS

I gave unprotected oral and received (male) approx. 10 weeks ago.  Anyhow, at 7.5 weeks, I had a HIV test (blood test, not a DUO) and it came back negative. Worry/ anxiety gone.  Then this past week, I had a pretty bad headache for three days, which I never get, so I don't know what a migraine feels like, but it was fairly strong.  Could the headache be associated with ARS at 10 weeks post exposure (w/ a negative HIV test at 7.5 weeks)?  I'[ve read that 8 week HIV tests are about 98% sound and I wasn't in a very high risk situation.  I just wasn't sure if that type of headache would be ARS and I've had no other symptoms per se.  Thanks for any feedback.

Very unlikely. It is not real to have only one symptom. I have been reading about seroconversions and people have:

1. Many symptoms (80%)
2. Zero symptoms (20%)

However, take advices from your doctor.

Oral sex in regards to HIV is EXTREMELY low risk borderline ZERO risk. You probably didn't even need testing. Your HIV test was about close to 99 percent accurate at 7.5 weeks. Probably even higher accuracy. Most people would test positive at 6 weeks with a standard HIV test. 10 weeks is far too long to experience any ARS symptoms. If they happen they happen 1 to 2 weeks in or not at all (source Dr. Handsfield HIV Expert) When ARS occurs you typically get multiple symptoms. Fever, extremely sore throat, body wide rash. I think you are in the clear. You can follow up at 12 weeks with another test to satisfy the CDC guidelines. I think you are definitely in the clear my friend. If you would of gotten a duo test the results would of been conclusive however your risk is basically zero.

As B231121 said, your risk is somewhere around zero. You never had a risk and never needed to test in the first place.

Thank you everyone for the feedback, it is very reassuring.  Like I was saying, after the test, all the worries went away, then that three-day headache event occured.  The only other thing that I could chalk the headache up to is switching to Keystone Light beer ;)

In all seriousness, I wasn't sure if the male-to-male oral increased anything, but hearing that ARS doesn't happen at 10 weeks (that and my negative test) brings much relief.

Thank you again and God bless!
