It was a bad batch of tests that caused the high false positive rate and it has been corrected years ago.

OraSure Tech.  You must wait three months post exposure to obtain a conclusive negative result with the Oraquick Advanced HIV 1/2.

It is indeed true that OraQuick has been reported to have a high false positive rate . This prompted several sites to abandon oraquick 3 years  back and prompted a CDC enquiry. However the more important thing is that there is hardly any false negative. A negative test can be believed absolutely.

I cannot recomend a test since I`m not an expert netheir a doctor, but the same orasure brochure says and I quote " Testing a blood specimien in more accuarte"  but thats what the brochure says, for me is the same I think both are good and if they are aproveed is becouse their are reliable, if you want a comparison chart of the fda aproveed test this are the links.

you can read the orasure brochures, they tell you about the false positives and false negatives,

Any FDA aproveed test will be good (that is the reason they are aproveed.
