rabies/hiv test

please may i ask can having rabies affect the hiv test? i got bit by a dog and i still am waiting if the dog is rabid or has rabies. i got  an hiv test after the bite. if in case i have rabies, would that affect the hiv test in anyway? thank you so much.

thank you sir, i know that you cannot get hiv from a dog. i just wanted to find if rabies can affect an hiv test. and  you said no it would not. thank you so much. God bless you and all who share their knowledge and time.

No it would not.  However, seeing how it is NOT possible to catch HIV from a dog why are you worried about the test results?

Second, if this just happened over the last few days any HIV test would not be accurate anyway.  Even though testing isn't warranted in this case.

Move on and stop worrying.

You are NOT going to catch HIV from a dog.   Testing for Rabies is wise if the dog was a stray.  But HIV?  Nope!  Not going to happen.  Relax!
