razor cut at the barbers
Just a quick question, so i know to be more careful the next time i go and get my hair cut, can hiv be transmitted if you go to the barbers and he nicks the back of your neck with the razor or clipper and causes slight bleeding, thank you.
Ok thank you, i assume i shouldnt have asked as i know kissing with tongues is a no risk scenario aswell and this isnt too different? So i assume that it cant be transmitted through saliva as there are enzymes in the mouth which would kill the virus before it ever became active; is this correct? Thank you and this will be my last post for a while.
Thank you Teak your last response was excellent, would it still be a no risk scenario if my friend's gums had bled whilst he brushed his teeth and then i used the toothbrush about 5 or 10 minutes after, or would the water, saliva and toothpaste have killed the virus before it had any chance to act.
Not a risk either for HIV.
HIV is unable to reproduce outside its living host (unlike many bacteria or fungi, which may do so under suitable conditions), except under laboratory conditions; therefore, it does not spread or maintain infectiousness outside its host.
HIV is transmitted by;
Unprotected penetrative anal and/or vaginal sex
Sharing works with other IV drug users
Mother to child
