scratch by needle in automobile seat

I realize I have asked some rather unlikely questions in the past but something happened to me yesterday that really has me worried and there is no other place on the web that can make such an accurate risk assessment and reassure by the facts. I had to rent a car yesterday. It was a clean car with cloth seats. After driving it around during my workday I saw a scratch on the side of my hand that had some blood on it and looked abraided. I became concerned that there could have been a needle inside the seat cushion of the rental that could have scratched my hand. Yes, I am very concerned by this. My worry is that someone in the worst case sceneario may hav placed an hiv needle inside the seat cushion and it scratched my hand leaving an abrashion and causing it to bleed.It was not a puncture wound but a definite scratch with some blood. What are my risks of contracting hiv in this way? Thank you so much for any help. Thank you for all you do.

It's called a typo...go read any of Lydia's posts, she makes less mistakes than most of us.

Your irrational thinking about HIV risks is becoming a phobia.  It just isn't typical of someone who finds a new scratch to assume that not only was it a needle that caused it, but a needle of HIV+ blood purposefully placed to harm someone.

The suggestion to seek professional help is a good one, and it isn't being mean...you need it or you will continue to live your life with constant tortured thoughts.

You need to seek therapy. This kind of thinking is not rational. Try posting in the anxiety forum.
