should i really worry

My husband was seen in the emergency room at a local hospital after contstant vomitting following ear surgery on left ear drum.  We noticed some drops of blood on the floor of the room we were placed in but didnt think much of it other than to not go near it.  Two hours after being in the room the nurse was sent in to set up another bag of fluids.  My question starts here.  The nurse set up the fluid line to the iv line in his arm and then put the other end into the iv bag.  After this was set up the nurse dropped the line ( the clear line that carries the fluid ) on the floor right by or possibly on top of the blood drops noticed earlier on the floor.  Then picked up the line and placed it on the bed.  The iv line also had what I guess would be called (port?) to give medicine through to the iv.  There was one of course already in the arm but there was also one towards the top of the line.  The nurse decided to put the medicine in the one that was towards the top that was part of the fallen iv line.  The nurse did not wipe the port with alcohol before putting the medicine through and I dont know if that touched the blood drops.  I am stressed because of the blood on the floor and the fact that the iv line and possibly the port touched it.  This is really making me lose sleep and I feel angry because I should have spoke up and asked the nurse to please clean up the blood when we first  noticed it.  I just dont know whose blood that was of course and what they might have had.  Can you catch hiv or aids this way seeing this is where the stress is?  The iv line didnt look like it was leaking so I dont know if thats really a concern but what about the port area used to put medicine right directly in the vein?  What if that touched the blood and then the medicine got pushed in.  Please Please get back to me as soon as you can this is really freaking me out.  I hope I explained my question good but if I need to clearify something just let me know.  Thank you very much for your help.

ZERO RISK. Even if the substance was blood and was HIV +. When exposed to air, the outer proteins of the HIV particle are quickly damaged and rendered unable to infect.  A hospital is the LAST place you need to worry about being infected with HIV.There are many reasons you need not worry. It doesn't happen. You need to stop playing  this episode over and over in your head. Each time you'll inevitably think of another details which in your mind "definitely" put your husband at risk.
