Sorry, can't get an appointment for a rapid test for at least two weeks (Canadian healthcare isn't always the best). Just need some help getting through the days. I don't know if my symptoms are severe enough - can someone describe typical thrush feeling and or swollen nodes?
Congrats! Glad you got the courage to test and are able to celebrate and believe your results! What you said bears repeating for just about everyone coming to this forum:
Any of you out there still looking at symptoms, you won't believe that you don't have this illness until you test. Go test, I had what I thought was everything. My tongue was disgusting, ulcers in my mouth, lymph nodes in one side of my neck the size of a golf ball, pain that I assumed were more swollen lymphs. The key is these symptoms were NOT HIV.
I am going to my regular doctor to see if there is something else wrong with me, but one thing is certain it is NOT HIV.
Take these comments to the bank, people! :0)
yep...amazing how powerful the "mind" is ! ! !
After delaying 3 times I finally got the courage up to get my test, had to be talked into the rapid test. As I sat there putting pressure on the pin ***** on my finger my mind and heart were racing. Longest 30 seconds in my life, until they came back into the room and proclaimed the "Test is negative."
Negative, I could not believe it. I want to thank all of you for your help.

Okay my test is tomorrow. My symptoms seem worse. Can anybody give me some encouragement and advice on what to expect.
Just really scared.
Thanks for any kindness.
Thanks. I'll try to keep the anxiety at bay.
As Teak has already stated-"Your symptoms have nothing to do with HIV coming 3 years later after a possible exposure."
-No one here can diagnose your symptoms. HIV has NO symptoms. Any symptom you can think of IS NON-SPECIFIC to HIV in and of itself. Your pain behind the knee, armpit etc, are common symptoms of a Virus called ANXIETY, nothing more.
Okay one final post and I'll wait out the 10 days until my test. Are pain behind the knee and in the quad and burning/pain under the armpit symptoms that anyone has seen before?
Thank you Teak. I pray that you are right.
You were never at risk of contracting HIV.
i had posted to an an old thread accidentally. Exposure was three years ago received oral, shared crack pipes from hiv+
2 and a half years ago brief unprotected vaginal with indetermit status
So lymph node swelling related to hiv are not painful?
What was your risk? Swollen lymph nodes with HIV or ARS are not painful.
I know symptoms can fool with the mind, but was just looking for something to get through the night.
I was in a bad place 2 - 3 years ago, I don't even know who that person was... does anybody know if lymphs would come on suddenly painful with only swelling in the neck? Did i have risk from both of the situations described?
Your symptoms have nothing to do with HIV coming 3 years later after a possible exposure. If you had unprotected vaginal or anal sex you can test now and get a conclusive test result.
