I thought you were diagnosed HIV+ already?
PCR tects are usually only available privately, you won't get one from a clinic paid for out the public purse.
They are expensive, yield 4-6% false positives and take a long time to run and get the results. They are only used in HIV diagnosis as a last resort where other results are disparate. Only your testing clinic would order these if results if repeatedly positive on screening tests and repeatedly indeterminate on confirmatory tests (WB). Best not to go ahead and get these without your healthcare provider/s saying so as the stress of a false positive wouldn't be in your best interests.
If you want to pay your money and take your choice running the risk of a false +ve it's up to you but the money would be better donated to an HIV service organisation to help those with the virus and outreach prevention.
If your screening and confirmatory tests are negative past the appropriate window period then you are negative and don't need a PCR for mediation.
PCR is not recommended for primary screening of HIV. These VL tests are ordered for inffected people to monitor progression of disease or to follow up with drugs efficacy. Antibody tests are for the purpose of primary diagnosis, including ELISA, OraQuick and finally Western Blot for confirming a positive ELISA.
You posted a thread in the HIV livng with forum saying you already have been diagnosed HIV+. What are you doing here again?
Why not just go get the regular antibody test, they are accurate and the rapid ones give instant results?
just go to your doctor? or a hiv clinic?
