normally no. Theoretically a heavy chemotherapy and or PEP (to prevent HIV, wich needs to be taken within 72hours after encounter) and an extreme immuun diseas(but you would know as you would be in hospital all the time) could influence. But in most cases only theoretically! From what I understood even for the above it's not even sure. Therefore the CDC has taken 12 weeks as conclusive. Normally with 4th Gen test it's already virtually conclusive at 6 to 8 weeks, but because of the above factors most countries still use 12 weeks as conclusive! Only side note as PEP is a heavy antiviral drug which has to be taken for at least 2 weeks, this one could influence the testing and it would be safe to do a conclusive test 12 weeks after stopping with the PEP drugs.
Thanks for the reply, very informative. My problem is that I have been ingesting colloidal silver for a month or 2 now and I have read that it is a high potency anti-viral supplement so with that being said could it be something along the same lines as pep medication and delay seroconversion enough to produce a false negative on a 3rd generation test at 3 months?I got a negative result but I still have some symptoms mostly swollen lymph nodes and some mouth problems. I read that 3 months is always conclusive with regards to antibody testing but the fact that I have been taking the c.silver has now got me worried about getting a false negative. Hoping you can shed some light on the matter? Many thanks.
Your negative is conclusive, and the c. silver would not affect your result.
Sleeplessnights34 how can you be so sure?and do you have much knowledge on c.Silvers effect on hiv?thanks for the reply greatly appreciated
No influence on test. Ps why dud you take that? It doesn't prevent hiv and is really for bad for your health so please stop with taking it. No doctor would suggest to take it
Are you 100% sure on that?I hadn't been taking it to fight hiv infection I had been taking it before exposure, long story short I have pretty bad psoriasis and a friend recommend using c.silver to try and elevate it so I thought what the hell I might as well try something as nothing the docs or hospital prescribe me seems to be helping. I know a doctor wouldn't suggest it but I think using alternative medicines can just asend effective.
It's not good and never proven to work against virussen or what so ever. It's an urban myth

Here in my country it wasvpopular to take because it was against all virusses incl hiv. But there are now campaigns to warn people about it.
Really?I have read so much information on people swearing by it. Which country are you from?
