6 weeks negative

Hi JC,
i have tested on the 18 th after 6 weeks of my exposure and almost one month for the rash ... the result was negative ( the doctors in the pro forum says that in general a couple of days after the rash most people will develop enough anti bodies to become detectable) and that the rash stays 5 to 10 days ...
what do you think ? this rash is stressing me and the doctor here in the gulf seems confused ...
the rash is not itching and now i have it not only on my stomach and sides but on my tighs as well ...
is it possible for ars rash to last that long?

There are many causes of a rash, environmental/food allergies, syphillis, anxiety etc. Without examining the rash and knowing your history, I have no way of characterizing or offering a causational factor. You could ask her about cortisone cream or oral corticosteroids if the cause is determined to be an autoimmune issue.

The Pro-Forum Docs are absoulutely correct. Your rash means nothing where HIV is concerned especially with the presence of a NEGATIVE 6 week antibody test result. Yes an ARS rash can last 1-2 weeks or more. It usually does NOT present by itself, rather as part of a "Syndrome" of symptoms. My strong inclination is that you will continue to test NEGATIVE. Keep your mind on other things. Always keep in mind that your fears are NOT reality, your NEGATIVE is.
