Scared

Hi,

I gave and received unprotected oral sex back in Dec of last year. I didn't taste any pre-cum and he didn't ejaculate in my mouth. It's difficult for me to remember exactly, but I brushed my teeth maybe an hour before and have some mild gum recession. Around a week later, I came down with what I thought was a cold (stuffy nose, malaise, no fever, etc.). It lasted a week. At the time I didn't think much about it. We were supposed to hook up again a few days ago when he tells me that he recently tested positive for HIV (in April). Needless to say, there was no sex and the next day I went to get tested. I get my results this week.

Words can't describe how scared I am. In all likelihood, he was HIV positive back in Dec and exposed me to it. I think about this multiple times a day, to the point where it's affecting my personal and work life. Is it possible that I've been infected?

Oral sex is not a risk for HIV infection.  You are OK.
