I have been paying sizeable premiums for short and long-term disability through my employer - for several years. Now I find myself unable to do my job at age 62. In reading the qualifications for total disability, I find the insurer goes by the AMA Guidelines. I googled all over the place about the AMA Guidelines, and I find them illusive. They seem to change sustantively each year. These Guidelines go by body part. My issues are heart, lungs, OSA, OA, and EBV. Absolutely nothing has been amputated! My claim would be for non-occupational disability. Does anyone know how to prepare a claim under these vague guidelines?
I am new to medhelp, if this is a wrong topic, I apologize. (I don't see any similar threads.)
