Hi, it may not be related, the Afib and gas production. It could however be a side effect of the medications you are taking, check with your doctor regarding this. Besides this frequent burping can happen with consumption of excess sugars, indigestion and aerophagia. It could also be due to Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), malabsorbtion, inflammatory bowel diseases and various infections of the colon. Please discuss these issues with your primary care physician when you happen to meet him. Try to include yogurt in your diet as it is a probiotic which replaces lactobacillus acidophillus (good bacteria) that helps with digestion. Regards.
Thank you. I eat a.very healthy diet so I don't really eat sugary things. I eat lots of veggies, lean protein, MULTI and whole grains ( although limited starchy carbs) I lost 35 lbs since March, on weight watchers...don't have ibs either although I do have some constipation but I had that before the afib issue. The gas started after I was hospitalized and has continued. I guess it makes more sense that it is the medication. I am being monitored by my primary and a cardiologist. It seems if you check the blogs you'll see thousands of people have this issue, no one (medical teams) has really looked into it much
