Again !

I submitted a question the other day but I'm still not getting accurate replies and I can't seem to find anything on this computer. Had triple bypass 3-30-10,,,, a year ago,,,, I still get tired in my opinion too much. I'll sleep 8 hours or more at night,,, then sleep a couple more times during the day for a total of 12 hours. The weather is kind of crummy yet, I'm single, not much to do untill the weather does break. I take one ( instead of 2) 25mg Metoprolol tart a day in the morning. Never had BP issues before of since triple bypass.    So the question is: Is it unusual to get tired a YEAR, not a few months after triple bypass ?

You still don't think it has anything to do with the beta blocker? I take the same med I am always having to wake myself up. Driving is crap shoot. I tell my doctor all the time I feel like a narcoleptic! I'm so sleepy all the time.

You do not mention what is the status of your heart. Why did you got the bypass? Did you suffered a heart attack?

You mention you are cutting your beta blocker dose in half.  You might not like to hear this, but by doing so, you might be reducing your heart's ability to remodel itself, e.g., revive stunned cells.  Is your Cardiologist on the same page with you regarding your medications?

Are you doing much exercise? Although the weather is bad, there are plenty of indoor exercises you can do. If you are not exercising much then the body will go the way that you describe. Exercise is also very important for keeping your bypass in good condition.

I don't know what answer you are looking for.  I assume you entered a cardiac rehab program and have watched your diet and are exercising appropriately.  If you are inactive then perhaps you are out of condition.  Have no idea from your post what you are doing.  Why were you prescribed metoprolol?  Are you on any other drugs?  Any other medical history that would contribute to being tired?   Could be you are depressed?   Have you talked to your physicians about this?
