I just joined an elite community in the military, and having any serious medical problems are grounds for expulsion, so I have been ignoring seeing medical over this. Don't want to make a mountain out of a molehill, which is what this place is designed to do, it seems, lol.
However, it seems like it might be getting serious.
Over the last 5 months or so, I'd have significant bouts of chest pain that'd last for 2-6 minutes and one of them entailed shooting pain down my left armpit, and it was usually precipitated by an emotionally stressful event - I've had about 4 events like so far. I've also had chest pain in my chest while sleeping, and then woke up feeling very confused and disoriented like I was going to faint. Just recently, I was on a trip to New Orleans, and stopped by a hotel and the nearby highway noise was unsettling, and I'm pretty sure I didn't get any sleep as I felt very groggy and fatigued when I woke up. Upon awaking, almost 4 seconds after standing up, it felt like my heart stopped for a second and I was about to collapse. Didn't collapse, luckily, but unsettling. I'm pretty sure I didn't get much sleep on that trip.
I have this simple EKG device that lets me check out my heart beat, and I noticed that when I get sleep deprived (<5 hours of sleep), my heart beat gets a little irregular. Like, it'll usually beat at 53 bpm normally, but this time it was beating at 70bpm, and then it would speed up to 150bpm for a few seconds, and then go back down to 70bpm and then 10 seconds later, it'd speed up to 150bpm for a few seconds, and so on. I'm not noticing PVCs and it seems like the QRS complex is normal, though the R does seem a little peakier than usual. It doesn't seem like there's random beats like in typical atrial fibrillation, and it does follow a regular pattern, it's just that the heart beat speeds up and slows down in the above fashion whenever I lack sleep. I'm not sure if this is normal or not (It might be), but in conjunction with the chest pain episodes I've been having over the last 6 months, I think there may be a connection.
Daily regimen: 80mg aspirin taken at night, 1 oz raw cocoa, 1 glass red wine every night and 1.5 grams fish oil and I eat pretty darn healthy. Slowly adopted that regimen over the last year since the chest pain episodes started. It seems like the aspirin helps.
