I'm 47 and have had high blood pressure for 25 years now. I'm currently on 3 pills. My BP usually runs about 140-170 (for top number) and 80-100 (for bottom number). Last night (for the first time) it was 165/45...
My top number is high and my bottom number is low... What's going on... Bottom number has NEVER been that low... I feel very sleepy and tired...
my top will be 155 to 170, but my bottom will be 65 yo 80. What causes this?
Thank you. Today at work, still a little stressed, I checked it and my bottom was 66 and my top was 130. I'm going to be stopping in on my mellower days and see what's up. Also I haven't been getting on the treadmill and have gotten a little lazy eating wise, while i'm usually really careful, so I'll I'll see if that affects it over the course of this next month. Thank you SO much!
Anxiety can cause your top number to go up 50 points or more. A top# of 143 while having anxiety is nothing to worry about that is why the doctor seems very unconcerned.
Get yourself a BP monitor and check your BP at home every day for about two weeks, make sure you are not having anxiety about something, are stressed out or in suspense because that will give you a false reading even at home.
Your bottom # is perfect.
