Hypokenesis

I have a client who was pregnant 1/06 and doctor recommended a follow up echocardiogram postpartum to reevaluate the mild hyokenesis found.   No problem yet...she has not done the follow up and had the baby .
could this of been a pregnancy problem and is a normal issue ?

The mild hypokinesis could be associated with  peripartum cardiomyopathy.   Peripartum cardiomyopathy is a rare disorder in which a weakened heart is diagnosed within the last month of pregnancy or within 5 months after delivery, without other identifiable causes for dysfunction of the heart. The heart muscle becomes enlarged and weakened and cannot pump blood efficiently. Decreased heart function.  It is a form of dilated cardiomyopathy in which no other cause of heart dysfunction (weakened heart) can be identified, and is a diagnosis of exclusion, wherein patients have no prior history of heart disease and there are no other known possible causes of heart failure.

The doctor may want to rule out any current heart problem causing hypokinesis and to what degree.
