Can fever or sickness cause high blood pressure?

Hello everyone, I am 17 years old male and for the last 4 days I've been sick with otitis media. Mostly everyday I've got high fever (like 100-101 F). My normal blood pressure is around 120/80, but since I am sick it is 138/82.. Can it be that the illness causes my bp to rise or something? I also feel palps sometimes, dunno if that can also be caused by the illness...

Fever and pain normally raise blood pressure.  These are normal defenses the body makes to infection. A temp of 100 to 101 is not really high. It is an elevation, indicating a mild inflammation, but nothing to get excited about.

I would suggest a human physiology class at your local community college to help you understand how the body works.  It's not rocket science, and most people can get it.
