CoQ10 (try Q-Absorb), L-Carnitine, A quality Fish Oil (Nordic Naturals). A Dr. Sinatra from Connecticut wrote a great book about this. These supplements vastly improve EF and quality of life with CHF. He has a website or you can go to Amazon, com and buy it off the internet, then go to www.iherb.com (the best place!!!) and order the supplements. I don't trust meds and these supplements have proven results.
Also, kenkeith is right. You have to know the underlying cause but these supplements help no matter what the cause is...
the addition of digoxin to my daughter's regimen has been the only thing that improved her ef... she was already at 50 mg coreg, and taking vasotec and inspra.
Look up coq10 on the internet and maybe try this i just started taking it and i go back on may to get another echo my ef was down to 25% in june of 2007 now back in jan it was up to 45% then I heard of coq10 so hopfully it will help even more. I'm also 28 so i know what your dealing with so what is your ef?
What is the underlying cause for the low EF. Digoxin can increase contractions and sometimes used if there is heart muscle damage. If the heart is enlarged causing low EF, then afterload can be reduced with medication such as coreg and vessel dilation, etc.
