forgot to add, it all came back normal. i do suffer from skipped beats since the incident, but on getting fitter these have become less obvious / less occuring.
I had cat scan about a year ago, ekg.. i was wanting a echocardiogram to check the size/ shape of it... The GP has been useless, i had to goto my hospital with chest pains for them to do these tests !
Yes, that's likely to happen because the muscle is tense.
Again, see your doctor. I think it's the only way to be convinced that your heart is fine (and if it's not, you can get treatment, though I really doubt your heart isn't ok).
have you been checked out by a cardio dr? if not go have the test ran to make sure its not your heart. 30 year olds die from heart attacks to, dont take a chance until you know for sure its not your heart.

Yes, ive suffered with anxiety and it had all but gone, maybe its rearing its ugly head again, i have been feeling a bit more on edge of late.. Exercise was key in helping me forget about it last time. Weird thing is though after gym session tuesday- when i was sleeping that night id wake up with stabbing pains in same spot - anxiety at night triggered by exercise!? My anxietys brought on by caffeine and lack of sleep and now maybe exercise after not exercising for sometime!?
Far too many variables to make a decent diagnosis. Glad im not a dr !!
Thanks for your input though, ill see how it goes..
By the way, when I "believe" (my anxiety makes me believe) I have angina pain (pressure in chest when standing up, climbing some stairs, something's hurting when breathing, etc), I just get up and run 2-3 miles, pushing my heart rate up to 200 or so, it's OK that sweat is running and I really feel exhausted, heart is pounding but no chest pain.
That should do to keep the stupid anxiety away for a couple of weeks :-)
By the way, chest pain can also occur from acid reflux. That often happens after a large meal. The esophagus pass right behind the heart, so it's not easy to distinguish cardiac pain from this.
Hello.
Angina pain in 30 y/o men is quite uncommon.
I actually doubt the pain was heart related. When holding your arms high, you will use chest muscles that we don't usually exercise, which may cause sharp chest pain. The fact that you can push the heart rate up to 180 with no problems is strongly indicating that your heart is fine. We can't say for sure, though, so it's possibly a good idea to visit your doctor.
You have a muscle right at the spot you describe, and it's in use while raising your arms. Angina usually doesn't manifest with sharp pain. If an angina patient should describe where in the chest it hurts, he would usually spread his fingers and put his entire hand on the chest. The pain is dull and squeezing, not sharp or stabbing.
Anyway, go to a doctor and get it checked out, but I really doubt you are having angina.
