post echo

my dad had just had an echo and it resulted that he has unventricular failure . the left ventricle is very dilated and very hypocontrcatile.estimated ef is 30%. small pericardial effusion present, moderate to severe functional mr, both arteries are dilated.RV is dilated and hypocontractile function is moderate to severe TR with a gradient of about 35mmhg. IVC is very dilated and does not collapse with respiration. estimated pulmonary sytem PR of at least 50mmhg. what does this mean? does it mean that there is no treatment for it? if there is what type of treatment there is. .

I'm 41 having an SVT ablation this Friday. I already have a pacemaker that was implanted in 2012 for Sick Sinus Syndrome. Can anyone tell me what the healing time will be for this ablation? Days, weeks, or months? I'm confused by all the sites.  Thank you.

Hi, the ejection fraction is a useful measure of left ventricular performance. The normal range is 63-77% for males and 55-75% for females. It reflects the pumping capacity of the heart. An EF of less than 40% may confirm a diagnosis of heart failure. Your father has heart failure. The pulmonary artery pressure is also raised. He will be given medications to improve the cardiac output and if needed an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD). Regards.
