Thanks for your response. I'm a nurse & am still pretty lost w/so much conflicting data. My MD keeps referring to my fatigue/stamina issues as needing further explaination then cardiac since my BNP is normal, yet I know how I feel. I had a muga scan yesterday to see what that says my EF is, Echo said 30%/cath said 47%-but my stamina reflects more like 30%. Very frustrating!
Hi. I sure can relate to your confusion with conflicting data/info.
I have dilated cardiomyopathy, with a severely enlarged LV. EF anywhere between 15-24% (still don't know which is more accurate. Low from cath, higher from echo). My BNP while in hosp was 1072 . This was evidently the number which caused Dr
to do a cardiac evaluation and he discovered my newly diagnosed severe heart failure back in Dec '07.
I totally sympathize with you, as I find myself more and more confused, it seems, the more I learn. In addition I experience about 6000 pvcs/day as per holter monitor.
I still do not understand if my fatique is strictly from heartfailure, or meds. Since on meds, I am tired/out of breath, etc all the time, and wonder if it is worth it...
Thanks for your response. Still awaiting Muga results. I never realized how much conflicting medical info was involved w/cardiac issues. Sometimes it's hard when you feel one way/and yet MD's make you feel like you should feel better!!
