Costochondritis

I was recently diagnosed with costochondritis. One doctor told me it would heal in a week, and I've had it for three. The other doctor told me it would heal in about three months. Do you know the average healing time and what I can do to help this heal?

I've have costochondritis also.  Sometimes it takes several weeks or longer for a flareup to settle down.  I'm not sure what brings on a flareup, but it hurts!  My doctor suggested Ibuprofen and it really helps me.
