MY HUSBAND HAD OPEN HEART SURGERY HE IS ON COUMADIN AND HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE PILLS SOMETHING WRONG SOMEWERE I WOULD AGREE 2ND OPION [ AORITC STENOIS VALVE REPLACEMENT]
My Father was on Coumadin for years - after he had open heart surg. it is a blood thinner - iv also never heard it was used for anytype of blood pressure lowering .. only blood thinning - the big problem with Coumadin ( and this was reported in the news )
that it can cause internal bleeding - in alot of cases, the bleeding can not be stopped
or found ? my father in the last part of his life, had internal bleeding from this drug..
doctors couldnt pin point the cause or why, other than it could be from the drug.. coumadin. but they wouldnt addmitt to it !
I would for sure, if your father is only on this medication - take him to another m.d doctor or cardiologist for testing . they should take him off the drug, and get him on a b.p med
and if he needs a blood thinner , there are other types out there.. that are not as strong
or as bad. I think you can still look up online about Coumadin reports , new reports.
it was about a year or two ago.. that it was in the news !
good luck booger
I have never heard about anyone taking Coumadin for HPB. It is a blood thinner. I would not think that it would have anything to do with blockage. I would think the drs would know what to do... kind of scary... before any surgery, he would have to bridge from the Coumadin to another medication such as an injectable. And then they could do his surgery, I would presume. I think maybe your dad needs a second opinion
