Is this serious?

I have had occassional skipped heart beats for the last 5+ years - similar to a flutter, actual skip beat.  They are not regular, but occasional. Sometimes it makes me cough, other times it just happens.  I had a skipped heart beat a couple weeks ago, after eating dinner, that made me a bit dizzy & very anxious.  I have anxiety disorder with occasional panic attacks - lorzapam as needed (started when our son was sent to Iraq).  I have had an echocardiogram (normal, with a heart murmer), stress test (normal), catherization (normal).  Do I need to worry about these?  My anxiety is higher now because of the experience I had a couple weeks ago.  I don't smoke, no caffine, and watch my sugar intake.

I have made an appointment to see the cardiologist the end of January; has been 4 years since I had the testing done.  Just scary.

You may want to be evaluated again.  I just happened to be in my doctor's office when I had an episode and it was diagnosed as svts (supraventricular tachycardia)  I was treated with meds for a while.  I haven't had any problems with this for the past couple of years since.  Before it was so scary.  The skipped beats would take my breath away, make me feel as though I would faint and yes, dizzy too. When were the tests done that you mention?  You may want to follow up with your doctor again.  Sometimes it takes some time to get the answers you need.  Take care, Ally
