Dental Implants & CAD

I have 9 stents in my RCA,for the most part I am in fairly good shape,I am having Dental Implants(6) of them on 01/19/11,is it safe for me,My Dr.is a Board Certified Oral surgeon with the VA Hospital in Memphis,Tn.

I agree with everything jrbon said, but I would first consult with your cardio before any implants are started. I think your Dentist should also have a consultation with your Cardio. Better safe than sorry. Good Luck

The worst problem can be medication related::

1) Bleeding, if you are on anti platelet or anticoagulant medication.

2) Infarction, if you are asked to leave the above medication.

3) Infarction, (depending of the state of your coronaries) if they use normal dental anesthetic which contains vase constrictors products.

So I suggest to discuss with dentist in advance, speaking about your medication and anesthetic to be used. If indicates changes in your medication, then check with your cardiologist.
