Echocardiogram results

My mother who is 64 just received her echocardiogram results, however her Dr is not in today. It states the following for a "conclusion"-
1. Normal left ventricular size with mild wall motion abnormality and normal systolic function
2. Subtle prolapse of the anterior mitral leaflet and moderate regurgitation.
3. Mild tricuspid regurgitation. PA systolic pressure of 30mm Hg.

Can anyone translate this? She has known that she has Mitral Valve Prolapse since her late 30's and has been on meds daily for this. She was recently treated at the ER for atrial fibrillation and is now on Cardizem. She has no insurance and is not sure what she should do next and/or if any of this is a serious concern.

Any knowledge or help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

You are certainly welcome, and thanks for your response.  Hope it works out well for your mother, and I can understand the stress that you may have as well. Take care.

kenkeith,

THANK YOU for helping me translate this. She has yet to hear back from her primary care physician. She is still having pain or what she calls kind of a feeling of it being asleep and is still having mild atrial fibrillation but nothing as severe as the night she went to the ER. I'm working on getting some financial assistance for her for medical bills so she can see a Cardiologist. No one will see her without insurance. I'm hoping that they can simply adjust her medication so she will stop having these spells. She has been really tired as well and not sure if that is from her heart or the Cardizem.

Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks so much for responding! It was great to have a resource like this one available.with quick answers.

Have a great day!

There is slight heart wall movement impairment but it has no effect on your mother's heart to pump adequately...normal systolic function.

Mitral valve regurgitation may not be a problem...usually there is no progression or problems associated with MVP.  If there has been an increase of mild to moderate, there may be a watchful status with your mother's doctor.

Normal PA is an average of 25mm Hg, but 30 is not considered problematic.

Hope this helps give you.  Thanks for sharing.
